Meet Your Maker: Guides and tricks to get the better of deadly traps and build impregnable fortresses in the multiplayer video game created by the authors of Dead by Daylight
Meet Your Maker has been available on the market for a few days, with PlayStation Plus subscribers who will be able to download it to their console at no additional cost.
The new multiplayer experience created by Behavior Interactive is a mix of first-person shooter and tower defense, in which players can build outposts full of traps from scratch or assault those of other users.
CALM AND COLD-BLOODED
Meet Your Maker is a game that requires excellent reflexes, a fair amount of commitment, and a reasoned approach, especially during the phases of attacking enemy outposts. You must try to advance cautiously, carefully observing the scene in search of traps and using the grappling hook to reach safe areas or recover the bullets fired with your weapon. Often the most significant dangers lurk around the corner: be sure to peek here and there before moving to avoid surprises.
To orient yourself inside the enemy fortress, you can also follow a robot who will show you the path to get to the vial to steal, but be sure to avoid it being eliminated by your shot or activating a trap.
THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT
At the beginning of each raid, you will be allowed to choose two weapons, the type of character, and a tactical gadget to successfully overcome the various obstacles you will encounter on your way. The choice of equipment is essential because each outpost is structured differently. In some cases, you will need more firepower to eliminate many guards or energy shields to obtain a higher degree of protection or explosive grenades to get rid of many enemies quickly.
Then remember that energy rifles, swords and crossbows, and new upgrades can be unlocked at the personal headquarters by exploiting the resources earned to improve the effectiveness of weapons and obtain unique traits for your character.
AN UNAVAILABLE OUTPOST
Creating a thief-proof fortress isn’t easy, but it’s possible. To surprise the other players, we advise you to think outside the box, placing the defensive devices and other guardians to protect the precious vial in the most unthinkable places. Try to draw an invader’s attention to traps like the dart machine so that well-hidden spikes can hit him when he least expects it.
If necessary, create alternative labyrinths to confuse the attackers. At the same time, in the construction phase of an outpost, remember the possibility of setting a patrol path for each of the various monsters called to defend the genetic material. In any case, however, be careful where you place the traps because, in some cases, they can also eliminate your guards and, even worse, destroy the other defensive systems.
LEARN FROM FAILURE
In addition to requiring the right approach to raids, in Meet Your Maker, you will happen to redo a level created by other users even more than twenty times before being able to pass it. The advice is not to get discouraged after a failed attempt but to take advantage of each defeat to memorize the position of traps and henchmen to protect the other players’ base while being careful not to make the same mistakes again.
In case you want to review your performances and understand in which points you went wrong and in which means you did the right thing, know that from the headquarters, you can check the replays of the last raids carried out, and the same goes for the attempts of the opponents to assault your outpost.
A BASE TO IMPROVE
By completing the various raids, you will not only get great satisfaction and multiple resources, as each successfully looted outpost will allow you to level up the five departments and that of the headquarters. In addition, you will need many materials and experience points to upgrade equipment and unlock new ones, which you can also receive by preventing players from looting your fortress.
Every time there is a level advancement, you will be rewarded worthwhile. Furthermore, by investing the resources you earn, you will be able to unlock upgrades that will provide you with valuable advantages, thanks to which you will be able to know in advance the number of traps that await you in a raid or how long the path will be to take to get your hands on the vial. At the same time, in other cases, you will be allowed to obtain more materials by defeating the guards and terminal devices defending the opposing outposts.
A TAILORED DIFFICULTY
Meet Your Maker offers a series of levels randomly chosen from those created by the players, divided into three distinct degrees of difficulty (normal, dangerous, brutal) to adapt to different needs. You can choose the level to start and find out what rewards you will receive after completing an assault; of course, the more complicated the outpost to deal with and the greater the number of experience points and resources you will get.
If you are not an expert in first-person shooters, then the normal difficulty may be for you; on the contrary, if you are looking for a more challenging experience, then the dangerous level could prove to be a good option while overcoming the more difficult challenges of the brutal story will allow you to get some fantastic rewards and be truly tested.
