The Acolyte: Collider interviewed the showrunner of the series
According to reports from Collider, Leslye Headland, the creator of the Star Wars series The Acolyte, spoke about her approach to the story and the period in which it is set. The series is slated for a 2022 release on Disney+ and will take place in the High Republic era, some 200 years before the events of the Skywalker saga.
In an interview with The AV Club, Headland said she was fascinated by the concept of the Jedi and how they relate to the Force. You also explained that you wanted to explore the nuances and contradictions of the characters, not limiting yourself to a dogmatic vision of good and evil.
The Acolyte is one of many Star Wars series coming to Disney+, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, Ahsoka, and The Book of Boba Fett. The series promises to be a mystery thriller that will explore the dark sides of the Force and the origins of the rise of the Sith.
